Each component is designed to install independently in the rack. The Rack System E cabinet has been modified to allow I/O interface cables to route between the ICE and cell boards in the Superdome cabinet.

    In general, the service processor (MP) on Superdome servers is similar to the service processor on other HP servers, while providing enhanced features necessary for managing a multiple-nPartition server. For example, the service processor manages the complex profile, which defines nPartition configurations as well as complex-wide settings for the server.

The SMS complements the proactive role of HP's Instant Support Enterprise Edition (ISEE) that is offered to Mission Critical customers by focusing on reactive diagnosis for both mission critical and non mission critical Superdome customers.
