Exchanging Messages
The mobile indicator icon will display alongside your name in other's friends list
and will let them know what type of mobile device you are using. Refer to the
indicator icons above.
Chat with friends
1.
To start a chat, tap a friend in the friends list, or highlight the friend using the
TRACKBALL, then press
Timestamp
2. Type your message using the keyboard.
3. To insert a smiley, press MENU and tap Insert smiley. Tap a smiley to insert it
into your message.
4. When finished, tap Send or press

To view active chats
Friends who are actively chatting with you are indicated in the friends list. Tap
an active chat to open the chat screen. See "Chat with friends" in this chapter for
details.

A timestamp appears in the chat window after every minute of inactivity.
