Getting Connected
To turn Wi-Fi on
1. On the Home screen, press MENU, then tap Settings > Wireless controls.
2. Select the Wi-Fi check box to turn Wi-Fi on. The phone will scan available
wireless networks.
Note
To connect to a wireless network
After you turned Wi-Fi on, your T-Mobile G scans for available wireless networks
in your area.
1. On the Wireless controls screen, tap Wi-Fi settings. The network names and
security settings (Open or WEP) of detected wireless networks are displayed
below the Wi-Fi networks section. Tap the desired wireless network to
connect.
Note
2. Enter the WEP (security) key and then tap Connect.
Next time you use your T-Mobile G to detect wireless networks, you will not be
prompted to enter the network key of the previously accessed secured wireless
network (unless you reset your T-Mobile G to its factory default settings which
will erase all custom settings on your phone).
Note
6
Clear the Wi-Fi check box to turn Wi-Fi off.
When you select an Open (unsecured) network, you will be
automatically connected to the network. You do not need to do step 2.
Wi-Fi networks are self-discoverable, which means no additional steps
are required for your T-Mobile G to connect to a Wi-Fi network. It may
be necessary to provide a username and password for certain closed
wireless networks.
