Exchanging Messages
Save a message as a draft
While composing a text or picture message, press the BACK button (
automatically save your message as a draft. To resume composing the message,
in the message list, tap and hold the draft message, and tap View. Continue
editing the message then tap Send or press
Manage text and picture message threads
Depending on your notification settings, the
phone plays a ring tone, vibrates, or displays
the message briefly in the Status bar when you
receive a new text or picture message.
A new message icon (
notifications area of the Status bar to notify you
of a new text or picture message.
Text and picture messages that are sent to and received from a contact (or a
number) are grouped into conversations or message threads. Threaded text or
picture messages let you see exchanged messages (similar to a chat program)
with a contact on the screen. Message threads are listed in order of when you
received them, with the latest message on top.
To open the message
Tap and hold the notifications area of the Status bar, then slide it down to open
the notifications panel. Tap the new message to view it.
While in the message list, tap a text or picture message thread to open.
To return to the message list from a text or picture message thread, press
then tap All threads.
