Press to display the following options:

Step forward
Step backward
Zoom
Go to map
Report image
Compass mode
To view your Map history
To open a list of places which you have visited or searched, press
More > History while on any map mode (except when in street-level view), or
press + h. The screen lists all recent searches and viewed positions, and
directions. Tap a location to show it on the map.

Getting directions

Use Maps to get detailed directions to your destination.
1. While viewing a map in any mode (except when in street level view),
press and tap Directions.
2. Enter the starting point in the first text box, then enter your destination in the
second text box.
Display the next street view of the same road.
Display the previous street view of the same road.
Tap to open the zoom control tab.
Switch the view to map mode.
Report the image to Google Maps. You will be prompted to
specify the problem.
Tap to turn Compass mode on or off. When Compass mode
is on, you can simply tilt, pan, or turn your phone to view the
area around the selected location.
