To add a new friend
You can add a friend stored in Contacts or invite a new friend.
Note If you want to chat with friends using Google Talk, invite friends with
existing Google Mail accounts.
1. In the friends list, press MENU and tap Add friend.
2. Open the keyboard, then enter the instant messaging ID or email address of
the contact.
Note When adding a friend with an instant messaging ID and saved in your
contacts list, matching contacts will display on the screen as you enter
information. For details on how to add IM information to a contact, see
"Contacts" in Chapter 5.
3. Tap Send invitation.
To view your invites and accept an invitation
1. In the friends list, press MENU and tap Invites. All chat invitations you have sent
or received are listed on the pending invitations screen.
2. Tap a pending invitation, then tap Accept or Decline.
Note When someone you invite to chat accepts your invitation, the pending
invitation disappears from the list.
To change your status
You can change your online status and customise your status message.
To change your online status, tap the online status icon beside your name, then

select the status you want on the menu.
