For SuSE 7.2 and 7.3:
1 Edit /etc/rc.d/boot, and before the line:
ECHO_RETURN=$rc_done: add the following line:
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.o
2 Mount the floppy drive and copy the driver into a working direc-
tory.
mount –t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt
cp /mnt/***/3w-xxxx.smp /lib/modules/
***kernel string***/kernel/drivers/scsi/
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.o
unmount
3 mk_initrd
4 /sbin/lilo
For SuSE 8.0:
1 Edit /etc/rc.d/boot, and after the line: export REDIRECT: add
the following line:
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.o
2 Mount the floppy drive and copy the driver into a working direc-
tory.
mount –t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt
cp /mnt/***/3w-xxxx.smp /lib/modules/
***kernel string***/kernel/drivers/scsi/
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.o
umount /mnt
3 mk_initrd
4 /sbin/lilo
