5 Change the directory to the floppy by entering the following:
cd /mnt/suXX
(XX=SuSE version number, e.g. 72, 73, 80)
6 Run the setup by entering the following:
./setup
Setup creates an /update directory and copies all files from the /
mnt/suXX directory to the /update directory. The 3w-xxxx.o
module is then loaded, and the message "Setup complete and
driver loaded" appears.
Note:
rect directory was used in step 5 and repeat step 6. If the
driver still fails to load, try manually loading the 3w-xxx.o
driver by typing the command:
insmod ./3w-xxxx.o
7 Change the directory and unmount the floppy by entering the
following:
cd/
umount /dev/fd0
8 Jump back to the installation by pressing Alt+F7.
9 Start the YaST2 installation.
10 When the message about LILO is displayed, jump to a console
by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2.
11 Change the directory by typing the following:
cd /update
12 Run update.initrd to update the RAM disk and LILO by typing
the following:
./initrd.fix
