Threshold Commands

Threshold commands allow you to specify criteria that trigger a cutover. In addition to the criteria set by
these commands, cutovers are triggered by Section Loss of Signal (SLOS) critical alarms, Section Loss
of Frame (SLOF) critical alarms, and Line Alarm Indicate Signal (LAIS) major alarms.

Specifying SR-APS Signal Degrade BER Threshold

Use the aps signal-degrade BER threshold command to modify the bit error rate threshold that, if
exceeded, triggers an APS cutover.
aps signal-degrade BER threshold value
[no] aps signal-degrade
Where value can be in the range of 10
The default signal degrade BER threshold value is 10

Prevents a channel from automatically switching to the active,
working, or protection state.
