Installing the 3.5-inch Drive Bay

1. Observe the precautions in "Before You Begin."
2. Insert the tabs on the carrier into their slots on the bottom and side of
the 5.25-inch drive bay.
3. Slide the carrier all the way forward until the screw hole in the 5.25-inch
drive bay and the hole in the carrier line up.
4. Insert the screw that secures the carrier to the 5.25-inch drive bay into
its hole and tighten it.
5. If there is a drive in the carrier, attach the power cable and the ribbon
data cable to the drive.

Removing the 3.5-inch Diskette Drive

1. Observe the precautions in "Before You Begin."
2. Remove the 3.5-inch drive bay (Figure 4-9, A).
3. Remove the four screws holding the drive to the drive carrier
(Figure 4-9, B).
4. Slide the drive out of the drive bay (Figure 4-9, C).
5. If you do not plan to replace the drive you just removed, and there are
no other diskette drives on the same data cable, disconnect the cable
from the system board.
6. Replace the carrier in the system and run Setup (Chapter 3) to specify
that the diskette drive is not installed.
