4 Connecting the Router
• Do not install the device in potentially explosive areas.
• Be aware that wireless devices can interfere with other equipment; therefore, avoid using them in areas where
medical devices are present.
• To ensure compliance with the 2014/53/EU RED directive, operate the device at least 20 cm away from your body.
4.2.5 Serial Port Connections
The Regesta Smart PRO is equipped with three RJ45 connectors for serial ports. However, depending on the model,
the two connectors labeled "Serial" may not be functional.
4.2.5.1 Console Connector as Serial Port (CONF Connector)
The console port can be converted into an RS-232 asynchronous DCE serial port, which includes the following char-
acteristics:

4.2.5.2 Asynchronous Serial Ports
The optional Asynchronous Serial Port feature requires additional hardware. Some models include two extra serial
ports, accessible via two RJ45 connectors on the Regesta Smart PRO. Note that the functionality of these ports may
vary by model. To check if your device includes serial ports and their specifications, please refer to the label.
