17.7 Preparing the franking machine for shipment to the
Customer Service
If you need to send the PostBase Vision M2 to the Customer Service, you will find
useful notes here on how to prepare your machine for shipment. FP Service will pro-
vide you with further information specific to your service case.
Caution! Ink can leak from an ink cartridge left in the machine during transport
and contaminate the PostBase Vision M2 and other objects. Remove the ink
cartridge from the franking machine before packing and transporting the
PostBase Vision M2.
Preparations for shipment ...

For your records, you can make a note of the register
statuses or print them out (if possible).

Taking off the weighing platform

Unlocking the weighing unit (access to ink cartridge and
security device)
– Automatic unlocking
– Unlocking manually (emergency unlocking)

Removing the ink cartridge
If the ink cartridge is not in the usual change position, you can
move the ink cartridge to the change position manually.

Packing the ink cartridge
To prevent drying out: Wrap the ink cartridge well (e.g. in cling
film) and store it properly (see storage conditions page 128).

Removing the security device (NPSD)
and store safely
Whether you need to remove the security device or whether it should remain in
the machine depends on the specific error on your franking machine. The FP
Service will inform you about this.
