17.3.2 Unlocking the weighing unit manually (emergency unlocking)

In the event that you need to remove the ink cartridge and/or the security device
(NPSD) from the turned-off machine (e.g. due to a defective franking machine),
unlock the weighing unit manually.
• Take off the weighing platform.
• Pick up the stylus for touch screen opera-
tion.
• Insert the stylus vertically from above into
the hole in the nozzle of the scale.
• Unlock the weighing unit by slightly turning
the stylus clockwise and fold the weighing
unit upwards.
Note: When turning the stylus, you can clearly
feel and hear the locking mechanism moving.
• Remove the stylus.
It is best to put the stylus back in its space in
the housing after use. It is well protected
against loss there.
