The Model 5265MG requires periodic calibration of the load cell used to measure the torque on the
paddle that is immersed in the cement sample.
Load Cell Calibration
1. Verify that the instrument is level. If needed, a leveling bubble is provided in the accessory kit. Flat
washers are provided to assist with leveling the instrument.
2. Verify that the vessel is properly assembled and the paddle spins freely.
3. Place the vessel assembly on top of the UCA or SGSA deck, towards the front of the instrument to
allow the weight hanger and weights to hang in front of the instrument.
4. Mount the motor assembly on the vessel assembly.
5. Attach the calibrator assembly.
6. Align the pulley with the cable supporting the mass. The pulley, cable, knurled shaft that attaches to
the motor support must be aligned.
7. Using 5270, select Tools – Configure – Instruments – Input Signals.
8. Select the signal name Mechanical SGS. Select Calibrate.
