Right Rear Panel
The right rear panel contains all the connections for hydraulic and pneumatic utilities.
Air Inlet, Pump Water Drain/Inlet
These connectors are used to connect the pneumatic and hydraulic utilities
High Pressure Inlet (optional)
This high-pressure connector exists so that pressure may be controlled with an alternate
pressure control system.

Operational Guidelines

• Thoroughly clean vessel components and threads and paddle after each test, the
ceramic bearings must spin freely.
• Replace the top and bottom vessel o-rings at the first sign of wear.
• Minimize friction within the motor assembly; the motor and paddle must rotate freely
before the magnetic drive is mounted.
• Do not over-fill the vessel, use the sample gauge that is supplied with the instrument.
• When testing a slurry above 400°F / 204°C use the air-cooling feature located on the
side of the magnetic drive.

Vessel Disassembly / Assembly (vessel is supplied assembled)

1. Verify that all pressure is released from the vessel by opening the pressure release
valve located on the front panel of the instrument.
2. Remove the motor assembly by lifting it from the plug assembly.
3. Place the motor assembly in the mounting collar on the top panel.
4. Remove the thermocouple from the vessel top plug.
5. Disconnect the high-pressure J-tube between the top cap of the vessel and the top of
the filter.
6. Lift the vessel assembly out of the heating jacket.
7. Mount the vessel in a bench vise using the flats on the bottom plug.
8. Unscrew the top plug assembly, leaving the vessel and bottom plug mounted in the
vise.
9. Remove the paddle shaft assembly from the top plug.
10. Invert the vessel and bottom plug in the vice.
11. Unscrew the bottom plug assembly.
12. Remove the internal sleeve and sample.
13. Inspect the sealing o-rings, replacing if deformed.
14. Clean all parts in preparation for the next test.
