9. Place the external magnet assembly inside the support housing. Align the set screw
with the keyway on the motor shaft. Do not tighten the set screw at this point.
10. Install the linear bearings (2) and the slide rod. Orient the slot in the rod upwards.
Verify that the slide rod translates freely. If not, locate the source of friction
(bearings or bent rod)
11. Install the load cell and spacers at each end of the slide rod.
12. Slide the motor and table assembly into the motor housing until the bearings are fully
inserted, the drive pin is engaged with the slide rod and the motor shaft has engaged
the external magnet assembly.
13. Tighten the housing retaining ring using the spanner wrench that is provided.
14. Mount the assembly on top of the pressure vessel plug to position the outer magnet on
the motor shaft.
15. Adjust the position of the external magnet until a 2mm gap exists below the magnet
and the aluminum housing.
Tighten the set screw to attach the magnet assembly to the shaft. Access to the set
16.
screw is achieved through the calibrator access hole.
Verify that the external magnet does not move off-axis. If too the top support
17.
bearings are loose, the magnet will drag on the magnetic drive housing creating
measurement errors.
• Verify that the brass ring is tight using the spanner wrench
• Verify that the external magnet is tight on the motor shaft
• Verify that the bearing preload set screws are tight
• Verify that the spacer below the top bearings is present
Verify that the motor rotates freely on the bearings and the slide rod translates freely.
18.
The load cell must measure the reaction torque from the motor with minimal friction.
