Section 6 - Troubleshooting Guide

The following table lists symptoms of several common problems, the possible
cause of the problem, and the possible solution to the problem.
PROBLEM
Poor gel strength measurement
sensitivity
High pressure leaks
Excessive motor vibration or a
scrapping noise
SECTION 6 – TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Clean the motor support bearings until they spin freely.
Clean the bearing at the top of the magnet housing until it
spins freely.
Clean the internal ceramic bearings.
Check that the linear bearings and slide rod move freely.
Check the calibration using calibration fixture.
Check that the paddle rotates freely with the plug upside
down in the support frame.
Check that motor control cables are not applying a side load
to the motor; they must be supported using the clips located
on the side of the motor assembly.
Replace the top and bottom o-rings.
Verify that the high pressure plug at the top of the
instrument is not leaking.
Verify that a leak does not exist within the instrument.
Verify that motor support bearings are in good condition,
with minimal friction.
Verify that the ring below the motor support table is tight
using the spanner wrench that is included with the
accessories.
Verify that motor and paddle shaft set screws are tight.
