Validating Motor Speed

The stepper motor used with the system rotates at accurate speeds. For motor speed
validation, use the following procedures:
At speeds above 10 rpm, a hand-held tachometer is used to validate the speeds.
At speeds in the range 0.20 – 5.0°/min, a built-in 1000 cpr encoder within the stepper motor
assembly is used to count incremental steps versus time data using 5270. The resulting data
set is used to validate the motor speed per procedure 5265MX-0122. Contact Chandler
Engineering to obtain this procedure as needed.

Validating Load Cell Linearity

The load cell used must provide linear results for optimal instrument accuracy. The
calibration weight set P-1351-CERT and P-1352-CERT provide a means to verify the
linearity using loads between 0 and 1000 grams.
An Excel worksheet (5265MX-0009W) is used to collect and display the results and
determine the Pass/Fail status. Contact Chandler Engineering to obtain this worksheet as
needed.
