Recovering from Set Cement

The 5265MG is designed to minimize damage from an inadvertent circumstance where
cement becomes solid. The top plug may be removed with the inner magnetic drive and
paddle remaining in the solid cement.
1. Disassemble the vessel assembly per the section labeled Vessel Disassembly. The
sample and inner magnetic drive are designed to remain with the set cement sample.
2. Remove the inner magnetic drive, bearings, spacer, baffles from the paddle shaft after
removing the top bearing and loosening the top screw.
3. Remove the sample tapered sleeve and sample from the vessel. The tapered sleeve
allows the sample to be easily removed from the vessel.
4. Remove the sample tapered sleeve from the cement sample.
5. Use a screwdriver blade and hammer to gently remove the set cement from the paddle
that is immersed in the set cement. If done carefully, damage to the paddle and shaft
is minimized.
6. Replace any parts that are damaged before starting another test.
