If you are using a Matrox Iris E-Series remote head, the front panel of your Matrox
Iris E-Series has the following interface:
• Remote head connector. The remote head connector is a Camera Link cable
connector which connects the remote head to the body of your Matrox Iris
E-Series. Note that the remote head connector is only available on remote head
versions of your Matrox Iris E-Series.
The remote head version of your Matrox Iris E-Series ships with one remote head
and one Camera Link cable. If seeking additional cabling, we recommend using
a 3M Camera Link cable with a maximum length of 5 meters (16.4 feet). Contact
your Matrox sales representative for further recommendations.
Connect one end of the Camera Link cable to your Matrox Iris E-Series and the
other to your Matrox Iris E-Series remote head.
The type of camera lens matches your Matrox Iris E-Series sensor optic. Remote
heads are not interchangeable between different types of Matrox Iris E-Series.
To avoid possible damage to your Matrox Iris E-Series, disconnect the power
supply for your Matrox Iris E-Series before plugging or unplugging your Camera
Link cable.
Although the remote head uses a Camera Link cable, neither the remote head, nor
your Matrox Iris E-Series comply with the Camera Link standards. Connecting a
Camera Link camera to your Matrox Iris E-Series might damage your smart
camera and your Matrox Iris E-Series.
