To connect your Matrox Iris E-Series to an inductive load device, you must first
connect a high-voltage diode between them. The diode protects your Matrox Iris
E-Series from high voltage, caused when disconnecting from the inductive load
device.
You should connect the negative side of the load (anode) and a Matrox Iris E-Series
output signal to the external diode. In addition, you should connect the positive
side (cathode) of the load to a +24 V power supply. When the Matrox Iris E-Series
output signal is enabled, the negative side of the load is reduced to 0 V, and 24 V
appears across the circuit.
