12.3 Making tramlines
12.3.1 Switchable seed wheels
For making tramlines switchable
seed wheels (1) with gears (2) will
be fitted, which can be switched
off for making tramlines.
Each gear (2) of the switchable
seed wheels must mesh with the
gear (4) of the intermediate shaft
(5) and set into free running posi-
tion. Therefore the stud screws (2
screws per gear) must be screwed
out by 1 to 2 mm.
If following tractors with different
track widths are used, it is recom-
mended to fit switchable seed
wheels (1) with gear (2) to the seeding shaft (6) and gears (4) to the interme-
diate shaft (5) and that with each row, which should be switched off depen-
ding on the track width.
The switchable seed wheels (1),
which will not be switched off for
making tramlines, must
1. be connected form-fit to the
seeding shaft (6) by screwing-
in the stud screws (7) by the al-
lan key (8) and
2. be separated from the gear (4)
by lateral moving of the corres-
ponding gear (4) on the shaft (5).
