Install the New Bus Expansion Module

1. Slide the new bus expansion module into the emptied controller bay (see Figure 6-8
on page 60).
2. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to tighten the two screws on the right side of the bus
expansion module inward until the mounting plate is against the chassis.
3. Reconnect any cabling and terminators you disconnected in Step 3 on page 60.
Make sure you connect the cables and terminators to the same locations as they
were before.
4. Reinstall the protective cover on the back of the library as described in Install the
Cover on page 20.
5. Package the malfunctioning bus expansion module and ship it to Spectra Logic as
described in Chapter 10 – Returning Components.

Restarting Backups

1. Power on and restart the host computer, if you powered it off.
2. Use your backup software to restart any backup processes that were running to
drives connected to the QIP or bus expansion module.
