Replacing a memory module

The RPE-X1s and FIPs are equipped with memory modules. Before installing or removing a memory
module, remove the RPE-X1 or FIP from the chassis first. For more information, see

When to replace a memory module

CAUTION:
• Use the memory modules provided by H3C only. Otherwise, the router might be unable to
operate correctly.
• For the memory module specifications, see H3C SR6604[6608] Routers Hardware Information
and Specifications.
Memory modules are removable components of the router.
You need to replace a memory module in the following situations:
•
More memory is needed to upgrade the application program.
•
The router needs to maintain a large routing table or support other highly memory consuming
operations.
