Replacing a memory module
CAUTION:
• Do not touch the surface-mounted components of the memory module directly with your hands to
avoid damaging the memory module. Hold the memory module only at its non-conductive edge.
• To protect the removed memory module, place it in an antistatic bag.
To replace a memory module:
1.
Determine the module (MPU or FIP) for which you will replace a memory module, and put the
module on a flat workbench.
2.
Pull the release latches away from the memory module at both ends so that the memory
module is lifted from the memory module slot.
3.
Holding the non-conductive edge, remove the memory module.
