5.3.2

Operating the SIMOTION D4x5-2 on PROFIBUS DP

PROFIBUS DP interface (X126, X136)
SIMOTION D4x5-2 has two interfaces for connection to the PROFIBUS DP. Transmission
rates up to 12 Mbit/s are possible. Both interfaces can be operated isochronously.
The X136 interface can also be used as an MPI interface.
As supplied, both PROFIBUS DP interfaces are preset as a master with address 2 and a
transmission rate of 1.5 Mbit/s. The PROFIBUS DP network is automatically created for this
setting.
However, other settings can also be configured. This requires that you configure the network
manually using HW Config and NetPro.
Note
Communication with the SINAMICS Integrated of a D4x5-2 or CX32-2 is always
isochronous. Here, SIMOTION D4x5-2 is the master and the SINAMICS Integrated drives
are slaves.
Master-slave configuration
The master/slave configuration can be used, for example, to establish hierarchical
PROFIBUS networks that can be used to implement a modular machine concept.
