Plan each cable segment to allow drop connectors on the Enphase QD Cable to align with IQ8D Microinverter
connected in series with 2 PV modules. Allow extra length for slack, cable turns, & any obstructions.

When transitioning between rows, secure the cable to the rail to prevent cable damage or connector damage.

Field wireable connectors are pre-installed at the ends of the QD Cables to increase the cable length beyond the
connector limit mentioned in Table 6. The field wireable connectors are protected with sealing caps. The sealing
caps must be removed only when you are increasing cable length using the field wireables at the cable end.
WARNING! Do not remove sealing caps from the cable end field wireable connectors if they are not used to increase cable length.

When transitioning between rows for same AC branch circuit, go across rows with the use of 3 Phase Field wireable
(QD-CONN-10F and QD-CONN-10M) connectors along with Raw QD Cable to extend the cable drop length. Try to
minimize unused/skipping QD connectors in Branch circuit to maintain phase balance across each phase.
Each connector on QD Cable is marked with Phase ID
C1, C2 and C3 which shows the phase rotation across
the connectors in the QD Cable as shown in Figure 4
and the similar phase rotation arrangement continues
across the cable.
Plan your AC branch circuits with a maximum of 9
IQ8D Microinverters per branch circuit. In case you are
skipping a connector, ensure that each branch circuit
have maximum 3 IQ8D Microinverters per phase i.e.
L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L1. You can check the marking on
connectors C1 (L1-L2), C2(L2-L3) and C3(L3-L1) to
count number of Microinverters per phase in a branch
circuit when protected with a 3-pole 20A over-current
protection device (OCPD).

If one exceeds the limit of 3 IQ8D Microinverters per
phase (L-L) in a branch circuit then the current will
be more than QD Cable capacity. Hence, it is
recommended to have a maximum of 3 IQ8D
Microinverters per phase in a branch circuit. For
more details refer to appendix section:
Calculations for IQ8D Microinverter System
In case you are skipping a connector, ensure that you
have an equal number of C1, C2 and C3 in the system
to maintain the power balance across phase achieved
using the phase rotation in QD Cable.
