Important Safety Information

Read this first
This guide contains important instructions for use during design,
installation, commissioning and maintenance of the IQ8D Microinverter
systems.
IMPORTANT
Enphase IQ8D Microinverters require the QD Cable and are not compatible
with previous Enphase cabling (i.e., Q Cables). A three-phase IQ8D
Commercial Gateway is required to monitor performance of the IQ8D
Microinverters. The QD Accessories work only with Enphase IQ8D
Microinverter based three phase commercial PV systems.

SAFETY AND ADVISORY SYMBOLS

To reduce the risk of electric shock, and to ensure the safe installation
and operation of the Enphase system, the following safety symbols
appear throughout this document to indicate potentially dangerous
conditions and alerts the installation crew.
DANGER
This indicates a hazardous situation, which if not avoided, will
result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
This indicates a situation where failure to follow instructions may
be a safety hazard or cause equipment malfunction. Use extreme
caution and follow instructions carefully.
WARNING
This indicates a situation where failure to follow instructions may
result in burn injury.

This indicates information that is very important for optimal system
operation. Follow instructions closely.

IQ8D MICROINVERTER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL SAFETY
DANGER: Risk of electric shock, Risk of fire
Only use electrical system components approved for wet locations.
Only qualified personnel should install, troubleshoot, or
replace Enphase Microinverters, Gateways or Enphase QD Cable
and Accessories.
"Qualified Person" is one who has skills and knowledge related
to the construction, installations and operation of the electrical
equipment and has received safety training to recognize and avoid
the hazards involved.
OR
One who has completed Enphase University training and has
skills & knowledge related to installations and commissioning of
electrical equipment and can recognize and avoid the hazards
involved.
Ensure that all AC and DC wiring is correct and that none of the AC
or DC wires are pinched, shorted, damaged or touching the roof.
Ensure that all AC junction boxes are properly closed.
Do not exceed the maximum 9 IQ8D Microinverters in an
AC branch circuit as listed in the manual. You must protect each
Microinverter AC branch circuit with a 20 A maximum breaker
as appropriate.
DANGER: Risk of electric shock
Do not use Enphase equipment in a manner not specified by the
manufacturer. Doing so may cause death or injury to persons,
or damage to equipment.
Be aware that installation of this equipment includes risk of
electric shock.
