IQ8D Microinverter Installation

Installing the Enphase IQ8D Microinverters involves several key steps. Each step listed here is detailed in the following pages.

Position the Enphase QD Cable.

Mount the Microinverters.

Provide an AC Connection to Branch Circuit.
Step 01: Position the Enphase QD Cable
A Plan each cable segment to allow the drop
connectors on the Enphase QD Cable to align with
IQ8D Microinverter connected in series with two PV
modules. Allow extra length for slack, cable turns,
and any obstructions.

Each IQ8D Microinverter supports two series-
connected PV modules, mark the approximate
location of Microinverter on the PV racking based on
two modules positioning and orientation.

C Lay out the cabling along the installed racking for the

Terminate the Unused End of the Cable.
Create an Installation Map.
Connect the Series-Connected PV Modules.
Energize the System.

AC branch circuit.
When transitioning between rows, secure the cable to the rail or PV
module frame to prevent cable damage or connector damage. Do
not count on connector to withstand tension.
