IQ8D System Design Considerations

IQ8D Microinverter

The high-powered, smart-grid-ready IQ8D Microinverter
is our most advanced Microinverter to date. Each IQ8D
Microinverter supports two series-connected PV modules
and has a 97.5% CEC efficiency for three-phase 208V
applications with peak output power ratings of 640 watts.
IQ8D Microinverters have an output configuration of a 4
pin (L1, L2, L3 and N) AC connector with power on two pins
and phase sensing on the other two pins. The three-phase
configuration and phase balancing is achieved using three
phase QD Cable. Following are design considerations for
IQ8D Microinverters.

Module Compatibility

The Enphase IQ8D Microinverters are electrically and
mechanically compatible with PV modules as listed in
Table 2. Refer to the Enphase Compatibility Calculator at:
https://enphase.com/en-us/support/module-compatibility
to verify PV module electrical compatibility with IQ8D
Microinverter.
Module compatibility calculator estimates the compatibility
based on information provided by installer on following
parameters. Installer should confirm the following details
with PV module manufacturer.

To ensure mechanical compatibility, be sure to order the correct connector type for both Microinverter and PV
module from your distributor.
NOTE: IQ8D Microinverter can be used with a single high power PV module but the Microinverter will have lower efficiency with a single
module connection.
