Processor Module

To remove or replace a processor module, perform the following procedures:

Open the system unit

Remove the CPU assembly
NOTICES:
All processors must be the same type. Therefore
100 MHz/256 K cache, 120 MHz/256 K cache, and
120 MHz/1 M cache processors are incompatible. If
mixed, selftest will fail.
The Model J280 only supports one 180 MHz
processor module.
1. Locate the CPU shroud as shown in Figure 5–16, Figure 5–17 and Figure 5–18.
