Changing the Crystal Oscillator

NOTICE: This procedure does not apply to the Model J280.
To install the new crystal oscillator, perform the following steps:
1. Orient the board as shown in .
2. Remove the Crystal Oscillator located at UT20 on the system board as shown in
Figure 5–23, from the system board.
3. Install the new Crystal Oscillator into location UT20 on the system board.
CAUTION: Match pin 1 on the crystal oscillator to pin 1 on
the crystal oscillator socket at UT20. Failure to do
so will cause system problems.
DEMC() Different manufactures use different methods, for
example, a black dot, square corner, notched corner
etc., to designate pin 1 on the component.
