4 Putting the sterilizer into service

4.5.3 Mechanical circulation cooler

The Type 65 TC sterilizer can be equipped with a circulation cooler.
The circulation cooler provides cooling water for the vacuum pump, so that a
closed cooling circuit is formed.
4.6

Operator instructions

According to DIN 58946-6, the operating staff should be instructed in the use of the
unit at annual intervals, encompassing at least the instructions for daily operation
and the instructions for maintenance.

4.6.1 Instructions for daily operation

At a minimum, the instructions for daily operation must include:
a) Preparing the unit so it is ready for use;
b) Daily function tests;
c) Executing test programs (sterilization tests);
d) Releasing the sterilizer for production;
e) Proper operation of the lock and the loading and unloading aids such as
transport and loading trolleys or ramps;
f)
Confectioning and assembling the load;
g) Selecting the sterilizing program (suitability of programs for the various types of
sterile supplies);
h) Operating the documentation system (batch printer);
i)
Actions to be taken on malfunctions such as power failure, absence of other
consumables such as steam, cooling water, aeration, or fire and actuating
safety valves;
j)
Turning off the unit;
k) Unit care;
l)
Residual risks during correct use;
m) Consequences of operator error.
