The VARIOKLAV Type 65 TC steam sterilizer is a compact benchtop unit with an
electrical heater built into the double jacket space:
The double wall serves to generate steam, to preheat the sterilizing chamber, to
control the exact temperature of the sterilizing chamber during the drying phases
and to store energy and heat between two sterilization cycles at the same time.
The feed water is pumped from the feed water tank (5) to the double jacket space
where it is heated. The heated feed water then supplies the sterilizing steam. The
sterilizing steam is introduced directly into the sterilizing chamber (9). Two
temperature sensors installed at the coolest spot of the steam outlet monitor and
log the chamber temperature.
The following components are stored in the case (4):
• the sterilizing chamber (9) with surrounding double wall,
• the two safety valves and fittings,
• the feed water tank,
• the vacuum pump,
• the control panel (6).
The sterilizing program is started and stopped on the control panel (6). Sterilizing
chamber (9) pressure and temperature are shown on the control panel display (6).
A monitoring system that is independent from the control functions also shows the
current chamber temperature and pressure.
The integrated timer (24) is used to set a start time for the sterilization cycle on the
control panel (6) (see Chapter 10.3).
During the entire period of operation, the sterilizer can be kept at working
temperature using the Preheating key (23). This improves sterilization quality and
reduces the risk of infection.
