8.2.3 Daily release of the sterilizer
When the daily function and sterilization tests have been completed, the sterilizer
has to be cleared by the person responsible for the sterilization workload of the
day.
♦ Document the daily release of the sterilizer in the device log.
DANGER
If the Bowie & Dick test program is interrupted for some
reasons, a new test must be performed for safety reasons.
Make sure that the test frame and the test pack are in non-
heated condition and replace the Bowie & Dick indicator test
sheet.
There must be no water droplets inside the rolled-up helix test
tube (i.e. the test object with indicator system).
We highly recommend having the sterilizer serviced regularly by an authorized
service agency. Furthermore, please follow the maintenance instructions in the
enclosed ring binder. This will give you guaranteed trouble-free, safe operation and
a long service life.
We offer you to perform annual safety checks at a moderate price.
INFORMATION
Store the indicator test sheet of the STERICLIN Bowie & Dick
single-use test pack together with the printouts of the batch
printer for the daily Bowie & Dick test runs in accordance with
your quality management system (we recommend keeping the
records for at least 10 years).
This will allow you to guarantee future access to all relevant information on
sterilizing conditions at the time of each test run.
If the sterilizer is not used immediately on being cleared for use:
INFORMATION
It is recommended to keep the sterilizer at working
temperature until the sterilization workload has been
completed. Always press the Preheating key after unloading
sterilized items.
