Program:
Vacuum & Empty
When this program is run, the sterilizer is first tested for air leaks, then
automatically heated for the subsequent Bowie & Dick test with no seperate user
input required.
Whenever you select and start the Vacuum & Empty program, two processes as
described below are automatically executed one after the other.
The vacuum test is used to identify air leaks according to DIN 285. In order to
obtain reproducible results, we recommend performing the test when the
sterilizer is cold and the sterilizing chamber is empty and dry. Any heat in the
sterilizing chamber may delay the evaporation of condensate due to the presence
of residual moisture, which may cause the vacuum test to fail even when the
system is fully functional.
♦ Make sure that the sterilizer is cold and that the sterilizing chamber is
empty and dry.
♦ Press the P
program key on the control panel (6).

The indicator in the corner of the key is lit, and the previously used program is
shown in the cycle display (18) (Figure 9).

♦ Press the ▲ key (16) or the ▼ key (17) on the control panel (6)
repeatedly until cycle display shows the Vacuum & Empty program.

The cycle display (18) shows the currently selected program.
♦ Close the door (1) until it touches the sterilizing chamber (9).
♦ Press the START/STOP key (20).
The door is automatically locked. The yellow control LED on the control panel
(door indicator, 21) is lit. The Vacuum test program is started.
