Inspection and repair
a. Check the outer surface of the commutator.
If i t s surface is dirty, clean with No. 600
grit sand paper.
b. The mica insulation between commutator
segments should be 0.5~0.8mm (0.02~0.03")
below the segment level. If not, scrape t o pro-
per limits with appropriately shaped tool.

c. Check the armature and field coil for shorting
and insulation. Replace armature as required.

must be replaced.
