Description of the "Evaluation" View
F
"Start measurement" button: Click on this button to perform a measuring operation, calculate
the measurement results and display the point cloud and measurement results of the currently
selected measuring program in the 3D-View.
G
Results display: The measurement results of the currently selected measuring program are dis-
played. Here, you can select which measured values are to be made available later for calcula-
tion, OK/nOK assessment, logging and output (see Chapter 3.16.8).
H
Status bar: Status and error messages are displayed in the status bar (see Chapter 8.1).
1
Distance type: Select the type of distance to be calculated:
-
Distance between two points
-
Distance between point and plane
-
Distance between point and straight line
Different objects can be used for each individual input type:
-
Point:
 Point: The relevant point is used for the distance calculation. The following measuring
programs produce points:
 "Center of Gravity" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.1)
 "Extreme Point" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.2)
 "Plane Fit" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.3)
 "Object Intersection" measuring program (see Chap. 6.2.3)
 "Perpendicular Point" measuring program (see Chap. 6.2.4)
Sphere: The center point of the sphere is used for the distance calculation. The following
measuring program produces a sphere:
 "Sphere Fit" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.4)
Circle: The center point of the circle is used for the distance calculation. The following
measuring programs produce circles:
 "Circular Hole" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.6)
 "Circular Pad" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.7)
-
Straight line:
Straight line: The relevant straight line is used for the distance calculation. The following
measuring programs produce straight lines:
 "Object Intersection" measuring program (see Chap. 6.2.3)
 "Edge" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.9)
Cylinder: The longitudinal axis of the cylinder is used for the distance calculation. The
following measuring program produces a cylinder:
 "Cylinder Fit" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.5)
-
Plane:
Plane: The relevant plane is used for the distance calculation. The following measuring
program produces a plane:
 "Plane Fit" measuring program (see Chap. 6.1.3)
2
Input data: Use this selection field to select the input objects for the program (see also Chap.
3.16.3). The list of available objects varies depending on the type of distance.
3
Parameters: The measuring program offers other parameters depending on the type of distance
and selected input objects:
-
Distance from surface: When you use spheres and cylinders, you can choose whether the dis-
tance from the center point or longitudinal axis or from the surface of the relevant object is cal-
culated.
-
Signed distance: You can choose whether to output the signed distance or the absolute dis-
tance value. This parameter is available for the following distance types:
Distance between two points when a point and sphere are used and the "Distance from
surface" option is activated (point inside/outside sphere)
Distance between point and plane (point above/below the plane)
Distance between point and line when a point and cylinder are used and the "Distance
from surface" option is activated (point inside/outside cylinder)
