Description of the "Data Preprocessing" View

5.1.2 "Select Points" Measuring Program

Use the "Select Points" program to select 3D points from the ROIs and to discard the remaining points.
This can be useful if, for example, parts of the holder or support surface of the measured object are within
the measuring field or in the event of reflections not produced by the measured object. You can use up to
four ROIs. For each ROI, you can select whether the points inside or outside the ROI should be dis-
carded. Discarded points are shown in gray, and selected points are shown in green and can be used as
input data in subsequent measuring programs. Proceed as follows:

If applicable, select the input data for the program (see below, section "1" and Chap. 3.16.3).

Set the parameters for the ROIs in order to eliminate interfering points (see below, section "E" and
Chap. 3.16.4,

Display Elements and Parameters in the "Select Points" Program:
A "General" toolbar: Using this toolbar, you can select the data source (see Chapter
save and load parameters and reset selected parameters to default settings (see Chapter 3.17).
B List of active measuring programs: This section displays the active measuring programs from the
"Data preprocessing" group. You can add and remove measuring programs (see Chap. 3.13),
move them (see Chap. 3.14) and select an active measuring program for parameterizing and dis-
playing the measured values.
C Measuring program groups / Tab bar for switching between views: This tab bar allows you to
switch between the four main views (see Chap. 3.2). To the left of the tab bar you find the section
for adding, removing and selecting measuring program groups (see Chap. 3.15).
D 3D-View: The 3D-View visualizes the 3D data (see Chap. 3.10).
E Measuring toolbar: Use this toolbar to set the ROIs (see Chap. 3.16.4,
F 3D-View toolbar: Use this toolbar to configure the orientation of the coordinate system in the 3D-
View (see Chap. 3.10).
G "Start measurement" button: Click on this button to perform a measuring operation, calculate the
measurement results and display the point cloud and measurement results of the currently se-
lected measuring program in the 3D-View.
H Status bar: Status and error messages are displayed in the status bar (see Chapter 8.1).

Input data: Use this selection field to select the input data for the program (see also Chap.
