A.1 MTCX
The MTCX controller (FPGA processor) is located on the mainboard (part of each system unit) of the APC2200
and PPC2200 device.
The MTCX is responsible for the following monitoring and control functions:
• Switching on (power OK sequencing) and power failure logic
• Watchdog handling (NMI and reset handling)
• Temperature monitoring
• Fan control
• Handling/Coordination of keys and LEDs (matrix keyboard of B&R panels)
• Advanced desktop operation (buttons, USB forwarding)
• Daisy chain display operation (touch screen, USB forwarding)
• Panel locking mechanism (configurable via the B&R Control Center - ADI driver)
• Backlight control of a connected B&R display
• Calculating statistical data: Power-on cycles, power-on hours and and fan hours (resolution: 15 min)
• SDL data transfer (display, matrix keyboard, touch screen, service data, USB)
• LED status indicators (Power, HDD, Link, Run)
• Optimal default BIOS settings are reported to BIOS by the MTCX depending on the existing hardware.
The functions of the MTCX can be extended by upgrading the firmware
approved Microsoft Windows operating systems using the B&R Control Center.
