The E&M signaling is used to indicate the on-hook or off-hook status of the telephone. It
transmits the corresponding status through the wiring mode of the E wire and M wire. Table
8-28 lists types of E&M signaling

The RC3000-15, as a Tie line device, uses the following E&M signalling type shown in
Figure 8-4.

The 10E&M supports configuring the type of E&M signaling of the voice interface
through the jumper on the card.
Each voice interface can be configured to support one of the I, II, III, IV, or V signaling.
By default, the signaling type of the voice interface is V.
The signaling types of the PBX and E&M must be the same.
