CAUTION
In practice, some empirical modification is required; this helps to compen-
sate for the non-ideal performance of the meter. For example, the actual
factor for argon is 1.395, rather than the 1.401 estimated in the example.
Please consult AMETEK Process Instruments for assistance, before run-
ning gases that are not listed in the menu on the 5830 analyzer.
NOTE
Gas Saver
In the default configuration the Model 5830 analyzer runs with the in-
ternal bypass valve open, so that the total flow through the analyzer is
greater than 1 SLPM. This high sample flow rate helps to improve the
response speed of the system. The gas-saver feature allows the user to
control the state of the bypass valve. The operation of the valve can be
controlled by selecting either Enable (to close the bypass valve) or Disable
(to open the bypass valve) for the gas-saver option.

Do not enter a K-factor less than 0.25. A K-factor less than 0.25 will
cause erroneous flow and moisture generator readings. Contact Ame-
tek for support.
If a custom gas is entered, the conversion to units of dew point will be
based on an ideal gas model, without any enhancement factor.
