6.4.3.4 Replacing the VCN540 Hard Drive

Prerequisites
Data in the hard drive has been backed up.
Impact on the System
Information cannot be stored on the VCN540.
Preparations


Procedure
Step 1 Put on an ESD wrist strap (or ESD gloves) and insert the ground terminal into the ESD jack in
the cabinet.
Step 2 Remove the faulty hard drive.

Step 3 Install a new hard drive.

Tools: Phillips screwdriver, ESD wrist strap (or ESD gloves)
Material: VCN540 hard drive
Press the button on the hard drive panel to open the ejector lever.
Pull out the hard drive for about 3 cm, wait for 30 seconds at least until the hard drive
stops rotating, and pull it out.
Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws from the hard drive.
Remove the hard drive.
