Procedure
Step 1 Put on an ESD wrist strap (or ESD gloves) and insert the ground terminal into the ESD jack in
the cabinet.
Step 2 Remove the faulty hard drive.

Step 3 Install a new hard drive.

Press the button on the hard drive panel to open the ejector lever, as shown by (1) in
Figure
6-12.
Pull out the hard drive for about 3 cm, wait for 30 seconds at least until the hard drive
stops rotating, and pull it out, as shown by (2) in
Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws from the hard drive and remove the hard drive, as
shown by (3) and (4) in
Secure the hard drive to the front panel using a screwdriver, as shown by (1) and (2) in
Figure
6-13.
Push the hard drive into the subrack along the guide rails until it cannot move forwards,
as shown by (3) in
Figure
Close the ejector lever and push the hard drive in position, as shown by (4) in
6-13.
