Procedure:

In the MyoSoft/ PAULA program, select DMC plus Control. Each electrode should be adjusted so
that the patient can maintain the corresponding muscle signal at a point barely above the value
HIGH for about 2 seconds (Fig. 7)
Attention!
Allow the patient to rest during the setting up of the electrodes to avoid fatigue, and thus
incorrect electrode settings (i.e. excess sensitivity).
Please take care to place the electrodes so that the entire contact surface lies directly
on intact skin. If strong interference by electrical appliances still occurs, please check
the positioning of the electrode and – if necessary – reposition them. If the interference
cannot be eliminated, please contact an Ottobock Myo-Service Facility.
9 Battery Management
Only use fully charged batteries to operate the System Electric Hand with DMC plus Control.
An intelligent "battery manager" alerts the patient to low voltage conditions: The System Electric
Hand DMC plus will become slower and the gripping force will decrease. At the same time, the
battery is protected against harmful total discharge.
The System Electric Hand with DMC plus Control can be operated with the 757B20 / 757B21
EnergyPack Li-Ion Battery, the 757B25=* / 757B35=* MyoEnergy Integral or the 757B15
X-ChangePack. For more detailed information regarding the batteries, please refer to the indivi-
dual Battery Manual.
Attention!
As soon as the DMC plus Control recognises a fully charged 757B20 / 757B21 EnergyPack
or 757B25=* / 757B35=* MyoEnergy Integral, it automatically switches to Li-Ion battery
technology. Once this has happened, only this technology should be used to operate
the system. If a 757B15 X-ChangePack is used, it is not possible to use the battery's
full capacity. A reset to X-ChangePack technology can only be done with the Ottobock
MyoSelect 757T13. For operational security and reliability, only 757B20, 757B21,
757B25=* / 757B35=* or 757B15 Batteries are to be used.
The default setting at delivery is optimised for NiMH Batteries
10 Cleaning and Care
Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and mild soap (e.g. Ottobock 453H10=1 Derma Clean)
when needed. Make sure the product is not damaged and that no liquid can penetrate into system
components.
Then, dry the prosthesis component with a soft cloth.
