Note
When the amber fault light has turned off on the front panel of the shelf, all the
disk are in good state.
Procedure
1. Align the bezel with the shelf.
2. Gently push the bezel into place on the cabinet until it latches.
3. If the bezel has a key lock, lock the bezel the provided key.
Procedure
1. Return the failed or replaced part(s) to EMC Data Domain. Reuse the packaging
from the new part(s) and use the included prepaid waybill for shipping.
Reference the RMA number on the outside of the package.
2. Send an autosupport report from the system by entering the autosupport
send command.
Fan modules are arranged across the front of the open shelf, and numbered 0-2, left
to right. A faulted fan module has an amber fault light. Do not remove a faulted fan
module until you have a replacement module with the same part number available.
Procedure
1. Check the enclosure service LED and the service LED on the affected fan.
Note
If a fan is found to be faulted, the enclosure service LED is lit and so is the
service LED on the affected fan. A fan failure is indicated if the fan is missing,
spinning at too low of RPMs, or if it fails the daily full speed fan test.
2. Log in as sysadmin.
