8.3 Sending SMS messages

If the internal GSM/GPRS/UMTS modem is connected ( chapter 7.1) or an external GSM/GPRS/UMTS
modem respectively an external device including a GSM modem is connected to the serial interface, the
EK280 is able to send SMS messages (Short Message Service of GSM-Providers) at occurrence of defined
events.

This function is only available since EK280 software version 2.20.

This function creates costs due to data transmission via SMS. Contact your mobile service
provider to get a favorable tariff. It is your responsibility to optimize this cost factor.

Due to interference of the radio connection failures may occur in data transmission.

This feature only works with a GSM/GPRS/UMTS modem.

8.3.1 Preparation

Initial conditions:
A GSM modem is applied as described in  chapter 7.
Transmission of SMS is available with your SIM card.

8.3.2 Parameterization

You can find the following menu paths in enSuite at

Configure message contents
With enSuite change to the sub-menu "SMS" > "Layouts"
You can choose between free SMS layouts (no. 1 - 10) and pre-defined SMS layouts (no. 11 -15).
The pre-defined layouts are not changeable and are defined as follows:

Definition
The message contains all values of Vm (volume at measurement conditions)
copied from the measure period profile of the last 24 hours beginning at last gas
day start.
The message contains all value changes ∆Vm (volume at measurement
conditions) copied from the measure period profile of the last 24 hours beginning
at last gas day start.
The message contains the information if the EK280 has an active alarm regarding
pressure measurement, temperature measurement or remaining battery lifetime.
