7.4.7.4 Prerequisites for operation with ComFTP
The following conditions must be fulfilled to enable operation of the ComFTP application:
− The ComFTP server must be configured. It is vital to ensure that adequate free space is available.
The directories used for standard response and archive transfer must exist.
− ComFTP server maintenance must be assured - the data must be processed in a timely manner. If
this is overlooked, data loss may occur. Talk to your IT department or relevant service provider about
this.
7.4.7.5 Preparation
Initial conditions:
− The FE260 is connected and configured as described in  chapter
− The modem installed in the FE260 is suitable for FTP operation and is supported by the software
version installed in the connected EK280 (see the table in  chapter 7.4.2).
− The SIM card is inserted as described in  chapter 7.4.3.
− The SIM card is unlocked as described in  chapter 7.4.4.
− For the following parameterization the FE260 power supply must be switched off.
7.4.7.6 Opening the customer lock
In order for ComFTP to read data from the EK280 and save it on the server, at least one EK280 lock must be
permanently open. For this purpose it is recommended to use the customer lock, as this contains the least
write permissions and therefore avoids the risk of unauthorized parameter updates. The customer lock is
opened as follows:
− Move the cursor to the "Serv." tab in the EK280's display, then to
Device settings > Access > St.CL
− If "open" is displayed below
− If "locked" is displayed under

The default customer lock setting is "0". After pressing
"open" is now displayed under St.CL.
