5.14.2 Checking Steering Link Pivots

The following checks should be performed every year:
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the key
from the ignition before leaving the operator's seat for any reason.
1. Place ground speed lever (GSL) (A) in PARK, shut down
engine, and remove key.
2. Check steering rod bolts (A) for looseness.
3. Ensure ball joints (B) feel firm, but can be moved by hand.
NOTE:
Ball joints that are excessively loose or too stiff to pivot by
hand should be replaced.
