Check tor a malfunction in the
EGR valve:
1. Move the vacuum pump/gauge
to the EGR valve.
2. With the engine at ;dle, apply
26.7 kPa {200 mmHg, 8.0 in.Hg)
ofvacuum to the EGR valve.
Does the engine stall or run
rough and does the EGR valve
hold vacuum?
Check the vacuum routing:
1. Reconnect tho vacuum pump/
gauge to the No. 16 hose.
2. Start the engine and let it idte.

positive terminal to the EGR
control solenoid valve connec-
torterminal No, 1,
4 . W h i l e w a t c h i n g t h e v a c u u m
g a u g e , c o n n e c t t h e b a t t e r y
negative terminal to the EGF
control solenoid valve 2P con-
nectorterminal No.2.

mmHg, 8.0 in.Hg) of vacuum

Check the vacuum ho3€a:
1. Turn the jgnition switch OFF.

hoses tor leaks, restrictions or
mrsrout|ng.
